Although born a mid-westerner, Claire is always dreaming of the mountains and spending time with friends in the great outdoors. Her favorite activities include trail running, stand-up paddleboarding, skiing, illustrating, and eating avocados. In her spare time, Claire runs her own textile design business, bakes bread, and trains for trail running races. Claire has been a leader on our Pura Vida and El Sendero Costa Rica trips as well as our Utah Unleashed and Iceland: Nordic Elements Program. From rafting down the Pacuare to hiking the mossy Laugavegur mountians, Claire is always astounded by the incredible sense of community, once-in-a-lifetime adventures, and eye-opening conversations that unfold throughout the trips. Claire graduated from the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources in 2014, and currently works in the RLT office on trip logisitics. In the past, she has worked with ancient frog species in New Zealand, conducted research on sea turtles in Costa Rica, and worked as a graphic designer for an international development company in D.C.
