Scott hails from the piedmont of North Carolina. Growing up in the city of Cary, he spent most of his time adventuring outside and playing various sports. In addition, he enjoyed time in the outdoors boating on Lake Gaston with his family where he enjoyed wakeboarding, tubing, skiing, and swimming. He attended North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Marine Science, with a Biological Oceanography concentration. Starting in 2015 and continuing to this day, he began teaching 4th – 12th grade students about the ocean through Catalina Island Marine Institute. As a Marine Science Instructor, he gets to take students on many snorkeling, kayaking, and hiking adventures as well as share with them his love for science and the ocean. During the fall of last year he hiked Mt. Langley, a 14,000 ft. peak located within the Sierra Nevada near Lone Pine, California. In his free time, he enjoys snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking, drawing, reading, playing video games, hanging out with friends, and adventuring anywhere. He's looking forward to being on the Road Less Traveled this summer continuing his exploration and learning with those around him.
